Cornbread. I swear that dang BB LOVES the outside crust. We were watching the movie The Green Mile. They said Cornbread and I had to go into the kitchen to make some. Up C word is off limits at my house unless you plan on baking some.. :)

LMAO, Christine! It's not often you find 'cornbread' on the censored word list! When I was converting my seed addicts to healthier diets, I stuffed birdy bread with all the good stuff, none of my birds refuse chop anymore but a fresh batch of birdy bread is always reason to celebrate. I hate looking in the freezer and finding an empty bread container.

That is way too funny! And I totally understand BB's craving, as I am going to have to make some myself after reading this..

Yeah... Mine get birdy walnut bread...

Shhhh... they don't know it's actually good for them.

I'm curious... what was BB's reaction to the C word?!

He yelled and stood on his Treat Dish. Serious He knows the word but I say a lot of food words when Filling his bowls up. This the first time I have seen him react like that. Cracked me up .

Once when the movie Grand Torino was on they said SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP . He yelled with them lol

Cornbread is awesome! Some of the big-box stores carry a well known brand that is quick and easy to bake. Doesn't hurt to toss in a bunch of extra corn kernels for added goodness.

What I really crave and is off-limits to parrots are brownies. I love the Ghirardelli mix that includes chocolate chips. To minimize guilt, I use a mixture of 50/50 oil and unsweetened applesauce. Can hardly notice the difference! Always have a fresh box in the pantry!

I have had some like that. You can't tell . A coworker made it. I really would not have known if she did not tell.
There is a cornbread mix I used . Can't remember the name right now

The banana walnut bread is the HUGE HIT around here.

SNEAK IN A FEW VEGGIES. Banana walnut veggie bread.

I even pureed a little sweet potato and mixed it in with the batter.

I do one slice all the way across, and divide that up among all six in the treat cups.

I've also done birdie muffins like that, with my mini-muffin pan, which were also a hit. You just cut each muffin into quarters. Each bird gets a quarter.

Zoe only makes that sound when she's doing something she knows she shouldn't be, like dismantling the other bird cages.
