Play gym

For Christmas I am looking to upgrade my playroom for my Mac and CAG. Anyone ever use any indoor kid gyms as a deluxe play stand for their birds. I was thinking of something along the lines of this:

https://brainrichkids.com/products/...5tuENiQ7i5kg699qjk5gjF9tKIBK5UthoCAFwQAvD_BwE

I was planning to then hang foraging stations and toys from it. Thoughts?

Should I be concerned that it is not made from bird safe materials and avoid? If so, anyone have any other suggestions? Do not have the time to build something on my own or know of a contractor that I could employ for a reasonable cost.

Interesting concept! Looks promising and I'm sure a mac would love the floor-to-ceiling structure with toys and foraging stations.

FAQs state it is produced in Russia with non-toxic "powdered paint," (powder coated?) plastic and steel construction. Prime consideration is avoidance of lead-based products.

I'd send them a query asking if they have info about usage by parrots.

Great idea. I will send a query regarding the lead.

Way too expensive for a bird.

That’s overkill, to support a kid.

I understand your point of view, my wife and I don't have children. Our birds are our kids/family members/indulgence. So we probably go overboard on some things. Thank you for taking the time.

Too Risky. Says you Might Not get it by Christmas. Too much Risk of Disappointing your Macaw if Santa does not properly deliver it down the Chimney by 12:05 AM on Dec 25.

Too funny. Good Point, but I think it will be okay even if I do not get until after the holidays. They are both pretty feisty.

Hi BirdieDad. You can make a totally AWESOME play gym from PVC piping and fittings for a lot less, designed to custom fit your space and be 100% parrot safe. PVC piping, fittings, vet tape, a pipe cutter and PVC glue are all you would need. The cargo net thing could be made from polypropylene rope or even a natural fiber rope ( not sisal though).

I have to disagree with this... For one thing, many of us have Fids instead of Kids. Our babies have feathers and they mean everything to us. For another thing, a macaw and a CAG could potentially play on that thing for 30 or 40 years, maybe more. Kids would get 10 years tops from it.
