My pineapple conure, Polly is around a month old. It's not even a week since she's here at my place. She's my first ever parrot, rather pet so I've had no experience dealing with animals at home. When Polly came, she was really normal I mean happy and cuddly. She is still cuddly and I have faced no problems with her yet except one.

Since 2 days, she is making noises at night and wakes up even if there's no noise. Beak grinding is normal after I Browder the web. But yesterday, she woke up at 4 am demand to be out of the cage. Today, she woke up at 6 doing the same. She's out all day except at bedtime. Literally out, playing, eating and flying, yes. She is allowed to fly and she's already so attached that she doesn't run away... but lately, she wakes up early and squawks a lot. She won't stop unless she is taken out of the cage and sleeps immediately in my hands when she's out. This is not good because I've my college holidays that end in 3 days and then she will need to be in the cage for 6 hours everyday. I'm concerned please help. Are things okay?

Gender: Female, Hand Tamed
Normal and Healthy life and sleep cycles
Age: ~3weeks
Please help.

If she is 3-4 weeks old she CANNOT go 6 hours without eating formula during the day!

Were you told to feed her formula by the breeder you got her from? Baby Parrots shouldnt be leaving the breeder or parrents until 3 or so months old unless the buyer has years of experience in feeding and caring for a chick. Its a professional skill. I know its your first Parrot and you wont know this stuff but as said above, this baby needs formula feeds and professional care for a few more months. Its all i know but others will help more. How irresponsible of the breeder wow x

I am terrified! Please please tell me you are hand feeding this bird every 4 to 6 hours. She maybe starving to death slowly. I am literally worried to death, please update ASAP!!!

she's starving and also freezing to DEATH! If you haven't already (you should have by now!) get back to the person who flogged her to you and FORCE them to wean her. I would then personally slap them after and berate them over being such a disgusting disgrace to the human race but hey I'm a little irate over people selling unweaned birds, you know considering that is these people's jobs

She's waking up because she's hungry and cold. At 3 weeks she requires feeding every 4 to 6 hours (depending on her, not your schedule) and cannot regulate her body temperature which is why she is going to sleep in your hand, it's the only place her body is being kept warm. This is as high up an emergency as can be in regards to a bird

Post said about a month old, which would put her at 4 weeks then OP says 3 weeks.... I really hope this is a weaned chick that's older and what age the chick is is incorrect...

Welcome to the forums! Thank you for seeking information, but Polly's situation is likely critical. Improper weaning can lead to starvation or stunted development.

I understand you are new to companion parrots, but the breeder/seller has done a terrible injustice to Polly and you. Hope you have been able to get some assistance to complete Polly's weaning!

I'm curious if the initial post is, lets just say misleading, meaning the OP had the bird a month and it is weaned....I'd like clarification before venturing ANY opinion. But if it is an un-weened parrot yes I agree with all above.
