Hope everyone is having a great start to summer! It's getting hot here in Iowa, 90 degrees F this weekend...
My flock is doing well! Some that have been following maybe know this already but I let Rue and Boo nest for the first time as a pair, two clutches were laid and they were excellent at sitting and taking turns in the box but none hatched, though the last clutch had chick development but never made it to full term. I removed the nestbox to give them a break for now and they are adjusting well to pet life. I'll let them try again sometime down the road.
Ember, my pastel male, is now over a year old and still our special little guy. He's always excited to come out of his cage and hang out with us, loves his treats and watching his daddy shower. He also LOVES seeing himself in the mirror and making heart wings to himself!
I have been searching for a new bird for some time now to join our flock (and hopefully become Ember's mate), and this past week I placed my deposit down on this gorgeous female whiteface cinnamon pearl pied, I will be naming her Ash, sort of a matching name to Ember so I'll be working with the both of them once she comes home in August to accept each other. Can't wait to bring her home!
And here's a bonus picture of me, my husband and our dog! It's been great weather here lately!
