Good Morning!

So, I have been working on different techniques and decided to try them on Pickles. I think that it is some Mommy thing, she is a REALLY plain cinnamon with a pale pink and feet. So it is hard to make really good art out of her, but I am always trying. My Suns I just look at and it is instant art, really hard to screw up their pictures. Don't get me wrong, I could care less about Pickles on the outside, as she is our incredible baby. But it will be nice to have some nice bright art of her to put up! Oh, I only put her name up to protect the picture, the one I am hanging up is without words.

Oh yea, I have never done the imgur link thing, so I am going to give it a try:

Have a great one!

That's an awesome picture!

WOW! What talent you have! Have you ever thought about doing a side hobby/business with your art? People could send you their picture and you could make those! I would definitely be a customer! Awesome job.

Beautiful art! How did you create it? It looks so neat and captures Pickles perfectly. I love the difference in texture as well.

Thanks so much for the compliments! I have to admit that we run a printing business but this is really something anyone can do. To make a long story short, I mask my subject, make the background is whatever I want, really blur it and then replace the subject back into the blurred background. I then simplify the entire piece and may or may not highlight certain areas. You have to be extra careful to preserve important areas such as the eyes and other important aspects. They should not be simplified as much. Then I burn, texturize and apply light grunge affects. This may sound intimidating but it takes me two hours max. If you are familiar with photoshop just let me know and I can break it down into steps. Have a great one.

I recently took up acrylic painting and am hoping to paint Skittles but I never thought of using an imaging app to do it. I imagine the techniques are the same just using different methods.

So that picture was made with photoshop? WOW! It looks just like an oil painting!

You could really clean up doing that!
