Well, this was unplanned but it happened and I couldn't be more delighted. I'd like to introduce Pi to the forum.
Stumbled across her breeder completely by accident. I'd been searching online because aside from that one place which looked like a bird mill, I hadn't had any luck finding anyone within 100 miles of where I live. And then, driving down the road and there's an aviary with baby birds. We went in and met the breeder, a really nice grandmotherly sort of woman. She was feeding the babies and let us have a look around.
She had a clutch of three 15 week old sun conures and put all three babies on my arm at the same time. This little girl stood out. While the other two just wanted to play and be silly, she would put her head to one side to listen to me talk and when she ran up my arm, she nestled herself under my hair and fell asleep on my shoulder.
Super sudden! But we got all her paperwork, took her to the vet, she's healthy and happy and settling right in. Loves her toys. Loves to cuddle. She even took a little nap this morning under a corner of my blanket while I read a book.
Here is a photo of her from this morning, standing on top of her cage and eating a slice of banana. I'm getting a bigger cage sent to me via mail order next week. The breeder sent us home with this one.
