A rare photo opportunity! I actually got the whole flock to sit still long enough to take a decent photo. Good thing they get along pretty well (except for Jasper, which is why he's in the front).
Good news! My birds have FINALLY learned the command "stay"/"don't fly to me." They will usually protest verbally, but they listen and stay put. The birds no longer follow me into the bedroom when I walk in there. It's the one room of the house we prefer to keep bird-free and they're finally starting to understand this. It's a huge accomplishment for us!
I've also been working on potty training with Jasper and he's picking it up pretty quickly. I've been trying to teach the others for as long as I've had them, with no luck. But our grey is so smart! When I take him out of the bird room and move him to the perch in the living room I tell him to wait, and then once on his perch I say "go poop." And he does exactly that! Since he's picked that up, we haven't had any accidents on the couch OR on me. It's pretty amazing.
I have no bird people around in my life to share this small accomplishment with. I'm so glad to have you guys! I know you'll appreciate it. Ha ha.
