Well, the moment Pete saw his new Grey sister, he fell head over heels in love! He strutted his stuff, would giggle, then say, "I love you!", then giggle again, tell her he loved again, over and over. Then he started saying, "Hello, dear" to her and did the longest mating dance yet for her. Today he is repeating much of the same behavior.

If she doesn't quite show this sort of interest back in him, will he become angry about it? Or just accept it and like her anyway? I'm glad he's so happy with her, but I don't want him to decide she will be his mate, because I don't see that working out.

He is quite entertained by her new repertoire of sounds. Each time she shows us a new one, he gets quite excited.

Anyone else have their amazon fall in love with a bird of a different species? How did it go? I'm hoping they will be able to be out together, but if they can't, I can still manage to give them each their own out of cage time. She isn't frightened by his attention at all. And she was with a male amazon in her previous home and they got along just fine. She was probably actually happy to see another similar bird to be friends with.

She did right away sit close to his cage, and is again right now. So she definitely isn't afraid of his attention. Of course if she hadn't spent her previous life with a zon she might have been.

I do think they are going to be good friends:)
