I moved my computer desk next to Perry’s house. And all of a sudden he wants to chew every cord. The first one was a power bar that he stripped in 5 seconds. He had never done it before luckily i saw him. ever since then it’s been a constant battle to keep him off the floor. Today was the first day I had to lock him up. He was running behind my fish tanks and generally trying to cause as much trouble as possible. He will step up but will give a pretty firm warning bite to try and avoid it. He’s gotten to several cords now and it’s really getting dangerous and totally annoying. Anyone have any suggestions how to keep him off the floor and on one of his three play stands 4 including the one on top of his house. Or on my shoulder but nope the minute i sit down off he goes. He’s totally doing it for attention. Timneh used to destroy my computer keyboard and knew how to turn off my monitor. Perry is much more dangerous. I may be forced to move my computer desk back upstairs. Thank you for any help.

Sorry Bill I can't help you because I deal with that too . With BB it's the mouse cord or keyboard cord/buttons..maybe i'll have to go "cordless" Granted he cant do as much harm as a 'zon. With Amy I leave the vacuum under the coffee table because I'm constantly cleaning around their houses, and Amy will climb down and walk right up to the vac and chew at the cord OR the hose! He could put holes in the hose in a heartbeat. And I cant leave the vac plugged in for fears of finding a fried chicken..so to speak  Ya I know! Put the vac back in the closet lol

Suggest you get lengths of BX cable from home depot , take out the wires and feed any wires you need thru it. BX cable is shielded with a metal casing. Your Amazon is not going thru that. This is drastic, but effective. He will prolly get bored trying to get thru it andmove on to something else. there are plastic covers for running cable on floors too, but it sounds like Perry is chewing thru those already?

Yea, Sassy has or has tried to geld all my electronics. I'm terrified she is going to electrocute herself. In desperation I have things threaded through PVC of what used to be my dog agility course. I just typed cord or wire sleeves in Amazon and came up with a whole bunch of alternatives. You have caused me to get off my dead you know what and try to get a grasp on this situation. Aside from the obvious dangers involved, it gets darn expensive to keep replacing this stuff!

We have child proof outlet covers on every outlet as well as plastic tubing around all the wires because we have a human toddler who’s just as bad as the birds! I bet PVC pipe would work and it’d be fairly easy to get a gauge large enough to thread things through. They make child proof plastic casings for surge protectors as well, but if you’re going to go the PVC route anyway you might as well do it for everything that way so it’s a sealed system?

Thanks guys i will give the covers a try. I’ve blocked off the cords right now the best that I can. He’s been chewing apart this plastic thing and it’s keeping him busy. I put out a cord I don’t care about and when Perry goes to bite it I say no buddy dangerous. I’m not sure if it’s working or not. If he bites the cord I try to get him to step up and off the floor. If he doesn’t he gets to stay on the floor and destroy the plastic lobster bin I’ve had since I used to work in a seafood place. It looks like a super heavy duty hamper. I use it as one. Are there any toys they kind of have the same feeling as peeling away rubber from cords? Thanks a ton for the help guys.
