Perjo the woodworker

Been meaning to post this pic for a while.

Perjo did this over the course of a few months, finished it in Sept of 2016.

It's uncanny how natural it looks and feels and that she stopped at the right point and was satisfied with it. It started as a standard round dowel that comes with the cage.

Parrots are Master Artisans of Woodworking!! Their capacity is amazing, as is a penchant for wastefulness. I no longer buy wood toys stranded on rope, as they generally chew from the top and dump the strand to the ground. Don't be surprised to see eventual chewing to split the perch in two!

Nigel is a crafts grey as well. They love their wood!

It's almost as if she did this knowing how a perch would be in her natural wild environment.
