I have a Perch Patato Gcc. I personally think she believes she's a trophy piece that should be told she's pretty but don't touch lol.

She has a plethora of toys in her cage, lots of time out on her play gym, and lots of attention. But she just like to sit perches on her gym or one of the perches in her cage, sitting there looking pretty. She loves attention but more of the 'tell me I'm pretty and feed me treats' kind of attention.

Had her vet checked and blood tests came back normal. Avian vet gave her 100% clearance. She eats a diet of 1Tbs of pellets, 1 Nutriberry, and a mixture of fresh fruit/veg daily. I've tried engaging her in play with toys but she's either terrified of it, attacks it, or ignores it.

Am I the only one with this issue? My Sun Conure, Mouse, is an attention lover. Conlan prefers to just sit back and relax with a foot up and watch a movie with me or just chill.

PS... The vet said her weight is perfect and she's 11 months old. Very dominant/territorial but FAST learner and food motivated.

Sometimes I wish tiki would be a perch potatoe. S/he makes me dizzy keeping an eye on him. :)

Ha-ha TacoNTiki....I know the feeling. My Sun is like that. Has to be in your face or she ain't happy

I wish Foo would spend a little more time being a potato. :)

But no, she wants to be near, preferably on me at all times. She either flys or marches along the ground after me. (also wish she would fly and not walk, I have nightmares of us stepping on her)

If she is not on one of us she is figuring how to get away with ripping apart my dresser some more. Or taking all the foot toys and throwing them to the ground.

Some days, I'd take a perch potato over a velcro bird. You are lucky!

My GCC was usually the "hands off" type, either liked being in her cage or flying around (and landing on my blinds to chew) but she liked to just sit on my shoulder too.

If she's not really interested in toys, try different types. All my birds love to shred paper, so you can try to cut up strips of newspaper and tie them together and see if she likes that, and slowly move up to harder toys like wood. Incorporate food into her toys, so she can forage for her favorite treats.

Parkers a perch potato. I have such mixed feelings about it. I couldn't take a Velcro bird; I have jealousy issues enough with my old yorkie regarding him even just being around. And I enjoy that most of the time he likes more being around us than actually being held all the time WITH us. But I admit I wish I could get a little mush-ekkie every once in a while who wants to climb in my clothes or lay on me.

Hehe I would sometimes enjoy a perch potatoe too... But nope that's not how my little girl is. I love her to bits, hyper ADHD and all :3
