People Who Use A Harness - Question For You

I am about to order the aviator harness from DrFoster&Smith, but have one little concern. Now Ive seen videos with it, but my question or concern is, if your bird gets startled and takes off, could he or she get hurt from coming to an abrupt stop mid-air? I know theres an elastic piece that softens the jerk, and have seen videos of it in use, but it seems the bird kind of just falls to the ground.. not like a bag of bricks but not exactly like a feather either? Has anyone had any trouble with a bird getting injured in the breast area or wings from this? Loco has never been outside and not in a travel cage. In the car he sits on my shoulder and has never tried to fly, and im not sure hes aware of the windows around him, but Im not sure how he would react being out in the open.

The lead is elastic and has give in it like a bungee cord.

If your bird is hitting the ground hard enough for injury his wings are too short. My birds can fly to the end of the line, stretch it out, and either land gently or even turn around and fly back.

Thanks guys! I think I just needed some reassurance having never seen it in person, as its obviously safe being so popular, but just wanted to be sure.
I see on the site that it says xsmall would be good for a sun, do any of you guys have one as well and can back that up? I remember reading somewhere that they had to adjust it for their GCC, it may be the flight suit im thinking of though.

I adjust the flight suits. My Irns, gccs, and cockatiels all wear the smallest size of aviator.
