Someone mentioned to me recently that they think Peeko has an unusually high voice for a green cheek, but only when he says "baby". So I recorded him saying "Baby Peeko" for comparison as to how he says both words, and there is a definite difference in his vocal pitch. He makes many more sounds that are the higher pitch - beeps, tweets, etc - than he does in the lower voice, which is what they told me a green cheek's normal voice should be. Just wondered what you all thought about the pitch, because this person isn't very experienced with green cheeks so for all I know, they don't know what they're talking about :p

I had to record with my webcam microphone because he zips up when he sees the actual camera. :p

My GCC doesn't talk at all really(Unless he's REALLY good at copying my white-eared, and only says her name.) but my White-eared, though not the same, are pretty close genetically I think, says some things with the low-raspy voice you'd expect(Mostly mumbles and jibberish you can't make out.) but when she says her name, she says it in a really high-pitched, almost mocking voice(I say mocking because when I'm being sarcastic I use a noticeably higher octave than usual. More like a baby-talking voice.) and it's drawn out. Like, high pitched would be "Keeeeeeeee weeeee...." etc. And her generic raspy voice is just "Kiwi, kiwi. Hey kiwi. Hey birdies." and any other ramblings she has. I don't say her name like that, but she does. Maybe they just take the most common words they hear(or the ones they know best) and fiddle around with how they say it? Dunno.

Sorry for rambling! But that's just my experience.. hehe. I think it's just the birds being silly, and a way to sort of "find their voice" if you will.
