Just finished making a Pear Pie. Of course Forrest has to help. I know some people will be grossed out, but he eats from his side of my plate so duh........He just loves to help cook. Mostly stays on shoulder until I roll out pie dough. Then he just can't resist. pear pie 001.jpg

I made one of those once (I'm no baker but I can find my way to the kitchen)have you ever added raspberries ? they melt while baking and add a splash of color and great flavor to the pie.

Never added raspberries. Sounds good though. Bet Forrest would like them. LOL

Forrest is such a little cutie pie!! (no pun intended) I'll take a slice!!! sounds delicious!

aww that is so sweet!

Sounds delicious! I love fruit pies, never had pear pie though. Seeing those leftover bits of pie crust makes me hungry for the "pie crust" my mom makes and my grandma used to make. Roll out the leftover dough put on butter, sugar and cinnamon. Bake then cut up into pieces, yummy!

When my children were home I always did that as well. As for us, we don't need added calories. LOL

If you like apple pie you will definitely like Pear pie better. If you want recipe just let me know.

I wonder if he'd like to make it with four-and-twenty blackbirds?

Too bad I don't bake. Most of my cooking involves hot pans and pots that could get flown/fallen into, so I mostly don't let the birds in the kitchen with me. They do sometimes help make their own breakfast (fruits and veggies).

Same here. When I put things in oven, he is in the other room and when I cook on stovetop he is in cage or entertained by hubby. Just can't trust the little booger. He wants to help with everything. But I love every minute of it.
