you see pictures of mom and dad.
so far, they had 5 babies like dad (dark red face with yellow-green back) and two lutinos (red face and yellow back) but no babies like mom (peach face and blue-green back)? any possibilities there will eventually be some like mom??

Can sibblings become (non reproductive!) mates?

How can I distinguish my birds by quickly looking at them when they are the same color (dad and its babies just like him!!)

thank you in advance!

Same sex siblings can possibly be kept in a “pair” or have separate aviaries for the males and one for the females, depending on your intentions with the birds (some people keep for pets in which case they should have individual cages, others keep as groups of aviary birds to watch but have minimal interaction with). If there is any fighting or one bird being picked on, they need to be separated. Not all birds get along or play nice with others! You should never put opposite sex siblings together unsupervised. Be certain your DNA testing for gender.

It is possible to get offspring the same as the mother, but the chance is small. The father has to have the same mutation (but it isn't showing) the mother has. If he has that mutation, than 50% of their offspring should be like the mother.

The only way to keep them apart is by ringing them.
