Hello everyone!
I recently posted a thread about Echo and his plucking problem. Luckily his owner was in town and chose to come see him and I explained that he started plucking and after seeing her we are convinced its because he loves her and misses her. My friend has gotten permission to take him with her to where she now lives out of state.
As for the start of this thread, a store owner in the city where I live had a pattagonian conure for sell. His original price was $800 but she sold him to me cheaper than that. Way cheaper than that. The store owner has had recent break ins and someone had stole some of her big birds a while back ago, this has been happening a lot to the bird stores in California recently. This store owner said she just wanted this Pattagonian to go to the right home.
My friend who owned Echo bought the Pattagonian for me since I took care of Echo as best as I could and even bought him a new cage and a bag full of toys and treats. This pattagonian is the first one I have actually seen in person and I have been frequenting many bird stores for the last two years. Although the owner who had this pattagonian and sold him to the bird store breeds this species but what makes me angry is that the breeder will cut the bird's tail because he thinks the tails are too long. I have decided to name this pattagonian Maverick.
What's strange is I walked into the store and there were a bunch of people but he started screaming "Hello!" at me every minute and dancing for me. The store owner let me interact with him and he was the only bird to show interest in me and my friend decided that she would buy him for me before he got birdnapped too. My family and my friend says that Maverick chose me, I don't know what it is with me and the conures.
