I've noticed folks often don't realize that birds are pets that often require a lot more patience to work with than other pets. What I mean is they take time to settle and learning to "read your bird" is the best thing any parront can do.

Our gcc has been home for nearly three months and in the past month I've noticed him opening up and playing more each day. He chatters more, plays non stop, and seems so very happy. He took some weeks to settle in.

My greys took a while to settle as well. They gradually became part of our family and settled.

What ami saying? Don't give up, each bird takes time (rescues even more). The payoff is a great friend whose trust you gain.

Just thinking out loud.:green2:

i totally agree. My blue and gold Maya was aggressive when she was young thats actually why i picked her, i went to go have her step up and she drew blood. i was like
"Your mine now bird!"

Now she is super cuddly, playful, and she absolutely adores my whole family. and they adore her back. but it wasn't always like that. she came a long way, and so have we as far as being responsible bird caretakers go.

so, in summary, i agree with you! :)
