Parrot’s left foot is red

Today I noticed one of JoJo’s feet looks very red. I noticed it after he flew into a window, but I have no idea if that’s relevant. I’ve heard on bumble foot, but I don’t know how dangerous it is or if that’s what it is. Any advice? I’m very worried about my baby!

More details:
Good appetite and acting normal
Using that foot without issue
And the other foot is completely fine.

My theories are either bumblefoot, or perhaps the dye from his red toy?
Should I be concerned?

Can you see if it washes off. We had a similar concern by an owner a while ago, was the paint of a toy staining the foot. Is it possible he dropped it in his water bowl and then played with it?

If it doesn't wash off, check for swelling or rashes. If it gets worse, take it to the vet. Better safe than sorry, but the avian vet does cost a lot. So, just be sure of any swelling before taking it.

Not an emergency, check him tomorrow and see if it washes off or if the foot looks swollen or has any sores. I'm hoping it's red dye.

Do you have rope perches? I heard this absorbs so much bacteria (even when it looks clean).Came across a few threads in the past blaming these for foot sores, etc.

If it does not get better, a trip to an Avian Vet might make you (and your bird) feel better. Wishing you guys well.

just wondering but what perches are in the cage? If you only have dowels they can cause sores on their feet

also if you have a sandpaper or concrete perch they can cause sores if they stay on them enough

I believe it is dye from his toy. I noticed pieces of the red toy at the bottom of the cage, and the food around it and the newspaper was dyed red, the same color as his foot!
