I've been laid up in bed these past few days with an upper respiratory infection and Kevin is about to lose her mind! She cannot understand why I am home and she is not out to play. With the other animals, unless supervised she cannot come out to play, if I fall asleep and she flies off, bad things can happen. She did get a good amount of cuddles on the bed yesterday but only because I couldn't get out of it and the dogs went crazy.

She can play on her own, I know she knows how, with my long school days i've worked pretty hard to make sure shes got plenty to entertain herself with but it seems like all that goes out the window if i'm actually home.

Do your birds understand colds? How do you let your baby out to play when you're sick?

I'm sick to some extent every day with my pancreas. But, they seem compassionate about it. But, I do lay down on the couch in the room where they are, so at least they have me with them. They do get upset when I keep running to the bathroom, where they can't see me, but they get used to it. I just tell them, hey, I can't poop on the couch like you guys do!

hahahah! That made me laugh harder than it should have. xD

My budgie did, Wonsy. she would become even more affectionate and cuddly when I was down or ill. Merlin however, he just mimicks my mood. If I'm down and irritable (not with him) he becomes a super snappy machine which really doesn't help my moods!

I'm chronicly ill, so, I dunno really. Guess it's just changing their routine and they don't understand why!
