Parrot science fair project

We are having a science fair in my school in April . I have NO idea what I am going to do. I had this idea on feather durability , like how their is different feathers on a birds body. I wanted to prove that all feathers are specially made for the job they were givin to care for the bird. I told this to my teacher and she said no, because I am not really testing any question, just making examples. She said even if I could, how would I test the feathers ? I couldn't really think of it so there goes one idea . I am avoiding intelligence tests , since if I want to win I can't really do something that is overdone. Any links would be appreciated

Thanks, I'm already searching while going along, just wanted to know if you guys had ideas. I just came up with something, does certain types of music affect the vocalizations of parakeets ? Just doing parakeets because most people have them
