Hey everyone! We are finally moving the last week of October, and I'm really starting to plan our trip out. We need to spend a couple nights in hotels on our way up, and need some suggestions of hotel chains that will allow parrots. Doesn't need to be fancy, just a place to rest for the night. We just have Kiwi, but we don't want to stop over and drive around aimlessly in an unfamiliar place looking for somewhere that allows him. As we found while looking for apartments "pet friendly" may mean they allow all breeds and sizes of dogs and cats, but god forbid you have a bird. We don't want to rely on a place being "pet friendly" alone. Anyone else who's moved with their birds have suggestions of where allows them?

We are moving from Northern Arizona to Portland, so we figure we'll be stopping somewhere in Nevada for the night and somewhere in southern Oregon for the night (we are going a bit out of the way through NV to avoid those awful California freeways at all costs). :green:

We stayed in Motel 6's when we drove across the country. We have 2 dogs and one parrot.

Northern CA freeways north of Sacramento are a breeze! Most pet friendly have no worry over parrots.

I would plan approximately where you will spend your nights and just see which ones are pet friendly. I would not even tell them unless your birds are loud. Then you have no choice. I would not let my bird out of its cage because hotels are not as clean as you would like them to be.

My aunt has traveled with her bird many times, and as Merlee said, she just didn't tell them.
