Every month we have the 'Parrot Of The Month'
... which usually means some great seasonal pics of our fids!

How about using a years worth of winners to make an official Parrot Forums calendar that members can buy? And then at the end of the year - use that years winners for the next calendar and so on.

What do you think? :)

I'll bring this to a Moderators' discussion. :)

That's right, you guys have that secret Fortress of Modditude where you probably get together and photoshop mustaches onto all the pictures of our birds. Did you find out your superpower identity yet? I bet it's "Gale Force" which would be wicked cool.

Love it!
And my sidekick can be the Rainybird!

Mustaches, eh? Never thought of it, but now that you put it in my head...

I love this idea but only problem I find is, where would we get the funding?

Anyone can get calendars made these days, it's easy to do online. The mods could get permission from members who's photos would potentially be used and then get the calendars made to order. So I guess we'd just be buying calendars through the forum to support the forum, as the Parrot Forum could charge a little more than the true cost. So it'd pay for itself.

The idea of a Calendar has merit in and of itself.

Yes, specialty Calendar have a limited market and in this case, not much larger than those members of Parrot Forums with an interest.

Parrot Forums does not have the structure in place to support such a project.

For individuals to create such a Calendar would require permissions of property use that organization and/or individual(s) are not likely to provide.

Of the Calendars that I have been part in other organizations, the income barely cover or failed to cover the costs to print and assemble.

Long story short, a Calendar is not in the foreseeable future.
