General comparison of the Medium (modified for CAG) and the Northern Parrot Backpack carrier.
Overall both backpacks will suit most medium parrots. There are pros and cons to both backpacks. The Northern Parrot one both wider and thicker, although it is shorter.
The Pak-O-Bird does overall seem to have been made with more attention to detail, although there are some things that I feel are better with the Northern Parrot backpack.
-On the side "windows" of the NP, it is all netting on the inside and fabric (with reflective) on the outside. This means that there is nothing for the parrot to "pick at" on the inside. The same is not true for the POB.
-The wider and thicker size of the NP means that two smaller birds (that get along) could easily share the carrier, whereas the POB is made for only one bird.
-The netting on the sides are comparable, but the POB's netting in the front is nicer (more accurately measured and less wrinkly).
-The door of the NP is taller (goes down all the way to the floor)
-There is no protection of the zippers on the inside of the NP, but there is on the POB.
-There are less parts to the NP, but it has more room for human error as the supports are velcroed on rather than buttoned.
-Neither of the backpacks' perches spin around, both are stable.
-There is no additional support bar on the NP
-Both have removable plastic floors
-The NP does NOT have any hooks for toys, although this can easily be fixed with cable ties (see pic)
-The NP relies on velcro to keep the pouch-like bowl holders.
