Hello. I have two lovebirds, green with red faces. Think it's called peach face?
They are mating on the perch and have made a nest...does that mean I have a male and female? I mean, they could be gay?
How do I know ifthey are male or female? One of them spends a lot more time in the nest than the other.

Oh geez Lisa....

Yes 2 females can nest together as well as 2 males. How old are they??? IF the female is mature enough you can easily sex them on your own by feeling their pelvic bones. IF your index finger goes in-between the pelvic bones it is a female, if it's close together it is most likely a male. That only applies when they're fully mature! That's how I pair them up in the past and it always worked for me when I go purchase adult Lovebirds for pairing. Otherwise once the eggs come and they're fertile, viola you've got a fertile pair.

Haha...I just did the pelvis thing...one is female could easily fit my finger in her pelvis...the other one, had bones closer together...but this is the one siting in the nest! I would have thought the female would be in the nest?
