Cockatiels - Oz & Kaila
Sooooo... I'm always looking for stuff that might make Oz happier. Today, I saw a cage for sale on the net, but can a cage be 'too big'?

Dimensions are 37X63X27

Here's the image:

This is a used cage that's a 45 minutes drive from where I live and they're selling it for 200$

Now, I've got quite a few things to consider: it would be a pretty big spending on my current budget, Oz is pretty much always out of the cage and is a bigger cage better/necessary?

Also, I'm moving next month and where I'll be, there will be 2 cats and 2 dogs. I'm also considering this bigger cage because I'm debating allowing Oz to become flighted so that he'd have a chance to escape the other animals should they somehow end up in the same room (I plan to try to keep them separate at all times), but where I'm moving there's a lot of coming and going and that means he'd have more chances of flying out the door.

Any advice?

That looks like a real nice cage. :)

He's a cockatiel

I think the bar spacing is 1". It may not be safe for a cockatiel. Why not get him a flight cage?

1" wouldnt be good for a cockatiel but a cage that size would be wonderful! Also I know there are many topics on this but I say flighted is best! Search the forum for topics on it so you can see everyones opinions before you make a decision!

Good thing I came on here before deciding to buy or not =P Bar spacing wasn't mentionned in the ad and I completely forgot about it (shame on me). I'll look into flight cages and see if there's anything affordable nearby.

Thank you very much
