Monte..Scarlet macaw, Seminole...yellow napped amazon, Starburst... sun conure...Rain, cinnamon green cheek.
Our sun conure Starburst has recently taken to crawling down my shirt collars and out my sleeves... he just started doing it, out of the blue.. cute as it is, I hope he doesn't start trying to do it with everybody... especially women.

I have know idea where he learned it.. but he's a special bird anyways :) he's starting to not want his mom at all, he lunges for me to take him.. we were bonded before, but wow.. has really started to really want to be with me lately, which has caused a few jealous moments with him and my scarlet and my amazon...

I'm not complaining, I like being close to all of our flock, but I wonder why all of a sudden he is hell bent on being with me...

Thoughts?

Apparently I got buried :) bump..

I would say it's just out of affection. Maybe Starburst has recently just found he likes the way you look/interact with him more. Casper will go back and forth between either wanting to come to me, or my girlfriend, even though I spend most of the time with him.

Mango does this sometimes, he is very fond of my cleavage. I suspect its just a nice warm spot inside your shirt. Ladies tend to be more understanding of animals groping them, so I wouldnt worry about it. Birds tend to respond to things that make you react strongly. Mango will do anything that makes us laugh or exclaim. It possible he was just playing around, had some fun, and then perceived that you were entertained. How old is he? It could also be hormonal. Dave and I have to work very hard to make sure we both spend a lot of time with Mango in the hopes that he doesnt choose one of us over the other. So far he prefers me a little, but Dave plays with him lots to try to ensure he doesnt get aggressive or jealous of us.

Starburst is only 7 months old. I think I need to get him some tunnels to play in.. he seems to want to go spelunking lmao :)

my sun used to get very very cuddly and climb in my shirt and rub her head against me.......then every so often, would give me a nasty bite and then would burst out laughing. oh that used to make me mad. she thought she was funny.

This sounds so much like Casper. He will play around and cuddle, then stand straight up and charge me, only to follow it with laughter. They just think their little comedians, don't they? :30:

Our sun never bit, until tonight.... grrrr... he doesn't like my son, which is an issue.. but he usually calms down after being told no..

Tonight he bit my wife pretty hard, he tried to bit me but I sternly said no, nit yelling, but in a harsh tone.. he stopped before he bit me..

Idk what his issue is...

Very cute. Just when we think our birdies can't be any more cuddley, cute or funny, they find new ways to makes us melt.

Today Pritti was laying on my chest snuggled to a hand like he often does, and he grasped my finger and laid down on his side like he does when he wants to roll on his back and play. Instead he just laid there and went to sleep, on his side holding my finger. In twenty years I've never seen him sleep on his side. I was trying to take a picture with my phone w/o waking him. Crazy bird lady here.

Emmy loves hiding in my shirt. Once she starts doing it, I know it's bedtime. Sometimes I'll let her cuddle there for an hour or two to hear the soft chirps and beak grinding. So sweet. :orange::orange::orange:
