Gandalf - CAG (1997-2010) R.I.P. my baby boy.
Bitty - CAG (2 yrs old? and working on spoiling her rotten)
I thought it might be interesting to know what some of you other feather heads like to do when you're not spoiling your fids rotten. Maybe it would spark other conversations!

As for me...I am an avid angler, a decent photographer, and a wannabe hot rodder. I even want to write a novel someday (I've started a couple that I think could be good, if I ever find time to finish....like that will happen LOL).

I like to play airsoft, work on rc cars, go deep sea fishing, and play first person shooter video games.

I have lots of non-fid hobbies:

Reading
Needlework (knitting, crochet, embroidery, etc)
Cooking
Sewing
Designing and making jewelry
Motorcycling w/ my husband

We also like to go camping but we haven't been able to do that ver much lately.

I'm a serious shade-tree mechanic, just did my right front strut bearing, control arm joint and installed a new oil-trap and rehabed the entire PCV system on my Volvo this weekend. I still need to do my font main seal, but without air-tools it's gonna be a $#%3%b*. I'm occasionally a paid photographer, and I build simple robotic systems and electonic do-dads for entertainment.

I love to cook Indian and Chinese food and mess with computers and smartphones on a non-programer-hacker level.

I've also been know to hand sew plush farm implements from scracth.

yes, I am odd.

I make things from wood, BBQ with wood, enjoy my fireplace, make home improvements, bake cookies, enjoy my aquarium, collect Coleman lanterns, make things from macaw feathers, but mostly taking my 3 macaws out and about where others can enjoy seeing and hearing them talk

Hey Jawz....I'm planning a 496 big block Chevy right now. Got my filthy old 454 siting in my garage, just awaiting final dis assembly to send off to the machine shop for cleaning. Pique your curiosity?

Hopefully, in the next couple of years, I will find my dream vehicle...a 48 Chevy Suburban. I used to own a 52 Chevy truck, but had to sell it when I hurt my back. It would be nice to get one again.

Tree-climbing
Reading
Writing
Bird-watching
Building Random stuff
Art
I'm quite a good bird watcher, been in the buisness since I was 5/6 years old and I can name most birds in this region and quite a few out. I'm improving on English species and I can recognise a few Amercian and South American. My Grandad lives in England and he's a bird watcher ( ornithologist ) too. Next time we visit he'll be taking me ringing ( banding birds for scientific reasons ).

I enjoy reading, horse back riding, church choir (if not traveling for work) and supporting my two teens in their extra curricular activities. As my work keeps me running ...that is all I have time for outside of kids fids and non fids.

hey Nof, that sounds like fun ;) what's the big gun going in? I certainly understand the lure (and aural pleasure) of the big V8, but I'm a bit of a tweaker myself and prefer to try like the dickens to replace displacement with forced induction and crazy RPM ;) My V70 AWD has the boost turned up to about 12psi and I figure it's putting about 250hp to the pavement from the 2.4l 5 cylinder.

I also made the huge mistake of having owned an Alfa Romeo, the Alfa bug is kinda lik herpes, it ma go into remission, but you never really get rid it ;) I keep hoping I'll find a really good Milano or another nice 164-S. The old Alfa V6 is a magical engine, the lumpy cams make it idle like a big block and it screams like a banshee at 7000 rpm... Oooh, getting tingles just thinking about it ;)

I'm pretty busy with my brood and work!

My husband and I own a newsagents/convenience shop which is open 7 days. Just the two of us run it.

I also have a little job helping an elderly customer with things around her home.

When I get 10mins to myself between everything I LOVE to read. I also enjoy writing short stories and am slogging at a novel but all just for enjoyment. I enjoy cooking and am rather good at it as well as baking. I enjoy walking the dogs. I love film but only get to the cinema occasionally! I love to so******e with friends but that's limited due to our work hours! I love travel and when we have made our money we will be doing quite a bit. I am a qualified aromatherapist and enjoy giving massages to friends and family (cheap present or what???!). I also enjoy making soap, candles, body lotions, oils........

I grew up in a fishing village in Scotland where we have our own boat so I ADORE sea angling and creeling but it's not the same in England sitting by a pond so I don't do it!

I have never bothered with cars in my life, but decided this summer to take on the task of servicing our own car before it's MOT - that was SO enjoyable....until I couldn't change the oil filter because the cap was so jammed on, even a chain wrench wouldn't do it! In the end I had to buy a new cap and bash it off lol. Many a happy Sunday afternoon with dirt all over me! Playing with engine flush and steering fluid and oil and brake fluid and window wipers etc is SO much fun!!! :D It was worth it though - it passed and I was so proud!!! I even fitted a new bumper after Dave has an argument with a bush! :D

Great thread, so much fun learning about others!

I love to read but it seems that I don't get as much time as I used to. I have four aquariums, downsized from nine. I like cooking and baking, and I try to walk daily. I also enjoy doing pencil drawings...but haven't done any in awhile. With five birds, four tanks, a husband, and extended family there's not a lot of free time!:)

When I have the time, between running the business, packing, going on

seeing to customers........then the washing, cooking, cleaning and ironing, seeing to my two guys

Promising myself daily to play the electric

and keyboard, reminding myself that our WII has even forgotten my name

Having fun and training Mishka my little

Before going to bed, browsing the forum, having a good laugh, looking out for the baddies, THEN my eyes start playing up, one closing after the other, my head bops forward, gosh I almost fell asleep, go brush my teeth, say my prayers.

Thanks to the iPhone I spend alot of time checking out different podcast. They're entertaining enough to play in the backround while doing things around the house.
