Does anyone know if it would be safe to wrap the thermo perch with vet wrap? Rosie really needs vet wrap on perches, or she easily falls off when sleeping, or if she gets excited and tries to move to fast. She hasn't fallen off in a long time since most of her perches are wrapped.

I'm still not completely sure how I feel about the heated perch, but Rosie is always trying to sit on my computer monitor(I think because it's warm), and I believe the warmth will benefit her bad legs soreness. It is a luxury I'm willing to get her, and not a necessity. Like with any heating products I will let it sit for a day to make sure it is working properly before adding to her cage.

Thanks for any input!

oooh, answered my own question in terms of vet wrap. Guess I'll be buying some sand paper,

I saw your thoughtful review on our thermo perch, thank you - to overcome the slippery surface simply take some light sandpaper and rub it over the perch - even a nail file will do over time the birds nails will scratch it up giving your bird even better footing. Please do not cover the perch with material or vet wrap as it can cause a malfunction in the perch.

I was thinking about giving her a platform perch with a heating pad and cover that with some material, but I guess the sandpaper works, too!

My girl got my maccas that heating perch it was straight garbage first its made from plastic that they didn't like and then I found it on the floor 3 weeks later the mount broke

I'm actually planning to buy the large SS platform perch with my next paycheck and instal it next to the heated perch XD no idea if she will use a platform perch, but hopefully she will.

ooooh bad! did you mean macaws? they can be pretty heavy, Rosie is only 300 grams so I'm not worried about her weight breaking it LOL But I'll see how it does the first week.

I bought a heated perch, then I tied cotton rope onto it. My parrot loves it. You lay the first end of the rope along the perch then wind back over it so that you can tie the 2 end together.
