Orchid: The Big, Bad, Biker Bird

So yesterday I had to run an errand with the gf. She just hated the idea of leaving the bird home when she "just knew" Orchid would like to go for a motorcycle ride (I live in Bangkok, too much traffic to bother with a car). After several attempts to talk her out of it, as usual I lost the debate... We hop on my bike with Orchid wrapped in one of her towels and tucked into my gf sweatshirt. I fired it up (pretty loud exhaust) and I guess Orchid didnt even flinch. We werent on the road for 5 minutes and she is trying to stick her head out of the sweatshirt to see whats going on. Guess she got bored of that after a bit and noticed my girls necklace.
We get to our friends place, introduce Orchid and she is laid down on the floor in her towel. Orchid just hung out watching everyone talk. I saw her funny look, and knew what was comming... she tried to back into the towel, wiggled and took a dump in her "crap rag" then happily waddled out and started exploring the place. She is only maybe 6 weeks old now but trying to potty train her. She is trying to potty train herself. she does not like doing her business unless she is in her cage or on one of her small crap rags. SMART BIRD!

Time to go back, she seemed excited to get wrapped up and in the sweatshirt, but instantly let it be known she wanted her head out to look. Im afraid my girlfriend will take the bird on trips alone on the bike so the bird can see more than just my back... Im more afraid the bird will totally enjoy it. My old amazon used to love going for car rides...

Six weeks, not six months? If six weeks its no wonder she wants to snuggle as at that age "normally" they would be in a darkish nest.

I've found that Eclectus move off to defecate. They never poop on me, compared to other species I've owned. If flighted they fly off to a spot where they can hang their tail without it being soiled. If they cannot fly they begin fidgiting and try to move off. I only get pooped on if I walk underneath them!

yup that sounds like her, thats great ( I think ) sounds like they naturally want to be potty trained :)
She is about 6.5 weeks now maybe 7.5... the breeder first said 2 months when I got her when I went back she said ALMOST two months.. about 5 weeks ?????

She is a pretty good girl, but giving me fits with feeding, she starts begging for food but fights tooth and nail (beak and tallon?) to take her baby gruel. Any more I can only get her to eat 25cc in the morning, sometimes more at night. I put in some soft food I make or fresh fruit and veggies, and she happily sits there eating and chitter chatting.

This morning she heard music for the first time, and seems quite happy "singing along" pretty funny her really trying to sing out loud with a mouth full of food.

She is quite social, she likes to go out, my girlfriend takes her down stairs to the apartment lobby and the bird is happy meeting people.
