Is it ok to keep an orange winged amazon parrot in an ac room at night but the top of the cage is kept covered does the parrot feel cold or can they adjust themselves to suit the temperature of their environment
How cold is the room and how breezy is the AC unit? I would put up a sheet or other barrier if the AC is hitting a wall of the parrot's cage as a contant draft could definitely make the bird sick. As for general cold temperatures, they can adapt to lower temperatures than in the wild but not as low as we can tolerate. Keep in mind that parrots are tropical birds and would never encounter very cold temperatures in the wild!
