In one of my past threads I said there had been an alexandrine hanging around. Well we caught him last week. I have been looking for his owners since the day I first spotted him. Ive put fliers + posted a few ads + asked around + notified vets and the spca (where people go to find their lost pets). Still no luck :( I can see he was a much loved pet as he just loves being with me. But I wont give up, I'm going to keep trying to find his owners :D

Anyways would it be bad for me to name him? Well I have no idea what to call him, like when im talking to him. It just feels weird if you know what I mean. It's just so I have something to call him and not just call him bird, or boy.

Here is my past thread:

And secondly well my sister broke our quarantine. She had Yuki with her(she kind of forgot) and went to see this boy, so these two did met. I wasn't really going to introduce my fids to him as I just have this feeling I will find his owners :D But since my sister broke our quarantine I did let the alex's met face to face.

This boy has been to the vet, he said he was very healthy. We did do a few blood tests and he got the all clear.

So here are some pics:

Alex and the boy we captured. Alex is going through his molt so he looks VERY messy :p And if you don't know alex's molt heavy.

Omg! Look how they all just sat on your arm in a row, that is so adorable! :p Hopefully you will find his owners! :)

Haha yea when I had one in my hand the other two wanted to hope up as well. Alex kept saying step. XD

You can tell they hit it off :D
I also hope I find his owners :D
And thanks :D

Haha, they have been very nice. :D Alex even dropped a few foot toys near him :p

I am so excited, I can't wait for alex's molt to be finished. Ive noticed he has many black feathers coming through :D

i hope u find his owners ash as know fully what its like to lose one and the overwhelming feeling of being reunited after you start to think all hope lost.

he is adorable, and i dont see an issue in giving him a name whilst in your care. maybe "bruce" as in bruce willis cause he was a lost boy.....lol

but maybe on the other hand its fate that he landed in your back yard, i remember u saying after i was givin prince and bruno that now u want another one....look what happened :)

good luck in your search

Thanks :D
I am still very determined to find his owner. And thank you. I did see how hard it was for you when you lost your boy. So I do hope someone misses him. And that they are still looking for him. Though when I did tell my work mates that I found this boy she said "It's just a bird, who would try to find it. I wouldn't". And I really did think she was a bird person. In New Zealand birds are usually just "house decorations" :( A lot of breeders just sell for money. Though we don't have many in rescues. :D A few budgies/cockatiels may pop up from time to time but those are usually adopted pretty quickly.

I did want another alex and it could be fate that this boy landed in my backyard.
Hehe Bruce is quite a cute name xD

ash i dont know if you have face book, or if your local area has a buy swap and sell page on there, but thats how i got bruno back. if you havent tried that already maybe its worth a try. although i wouldnt put a pic or any specific details on it. i would just say found parrot, if you are missing your oarrot please inbox details and description of your bird.

There really aren't any bird rescues here I have let a local bird breeders forum know. There is a fb page which I haven't posted on yet. I'll post on there now :D
THanks for reminding me :D

no problem. like u i dont have any bird rescues here either and only 2 normal vets. i dont think we even have a pound.

We have one main bird rescue but that's in a town that's 4 hours away from where I live. They usually have chickens/roosters/doves up for adoption but those are usually adopted as well :p On very very rare occasions they have cockatoo's. Those are adopted very quickly. Though you can find some wild too's and lorikeets in that town. But budgies and cockatiels are the main thing you see. And Indian Ringnecks :p They are adopted very quickly.

They usually take in sick or hurt native birds. Which is what most rescues do here in NZ.

Wow! He is so beautiful and good looking! :D

Yes, I would name him just for yourself, it might make life easier! :D lol!

Just saying, but I think this lucky boy (:D) is a difference specie to Alex and Yuki, he have yellow coloured feet while Yuki and Alex (and Ozzie) have grey feet.

Hope you finds his owner soon! :)

Haha it would be much easier if I did give him a name. But I'm not sure what o:

I thought he was a different sub species. Hes feet look really bright in those pics. They are yellow but not that yellow XD

After researching I am pretty sure this boy is the sub species [FONT=Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif]"Laos Alexandrine Parakeet. They are the smallest of the species and have yellowish skin on their feet c:

I think Tango might be a Laos too, he also has kinda yellow feet in contrast to most other Alex's I see.

All the Alex's ive seen have had grey feet. xD I did ask my vet and he told me he was a different species.

You don't really notice till they are side by side. c: Well when they are side to side you can see a big difference. :p

right, and for me Tango was the first bird I ever met so when I went to the pet market to buy food and I noticed that all the other alex's had grey feet and were bigger I thought maybe there was something wrong.

Glad to know he's a subspecies where he is supposed to look like that!
