Sun Conure (Pipa), hatched 12/31/13
Hello everyone,

Being a first-time owner of a conure, I'm always on the look out for information, and tips.

She will be 5 months this month, has clipped wings, likes papaya, seeds, pellets, pommegranate seeds, and orange juice. She kinda likes apples, cheerios, almonds and bread. She refuses to eat mango, banana, any type of veggie, or herbs.

She loves to cuddle and take naps with me, but bites everything and, as all conures do, likes to test boundaries. I sit with her outside, while she perches and enjoys the sun atop a lemon tree we have, and she loves it. It calms her screeching and "why aren't you with me 24/7" desire, and she gets her daily dose of Vitamin D.

She has plenty of toys, fresh water, seeeds, fruits and pellets, but doesn't seem very interested in the toys. Her cage is plenty spacious for her, and just recently she began hanging upside down, climbing to the roof of it, and chasing me around. I know it's a process, but I'd love to know if I'm doing anything wrong, or if there is anything else I should be doing.

Her droppings are normal; more watery when fruit is given, but normal nonetheless. Today, her droppings were very watery and brown. I recently set up an alfalfa and honey perch, and it looked the same color as her dropping was, so I don't wanna get too worried (should I be?)

I welcome any and all info/tips!

I wouldn't worry about the poo, as it's most likely a result of the perch. It sounds like you have a great situation, but if you want to encourage more foods I might try putting new foods in a bird bread so that they are mixed in or pretending to eat the foods myself. Sometimes birds will refuse to eat something one day and love it the next, so don't give up on a food just because it was refused once.

Also, adorable pictures!
