Parrots
Amy a Blue Front 'Zon
Jonesy a Goffins 'Too who had to be rehomed :-(

And a Normal Grey Cockatiel named BB who came home with me on 5/20/2016.
...I found Amy trying her best to squeeze her butt into her water bowl this morning, first time I ever saw her do that lol. I took it as a hint she wanted to spruce up so she went into the shower with me..heres the results

That is a soggy Amy!

In that second picture he has an evil look in that eye!

He's a handsome boy. I love they way they look when they're wet.

Yup, that is one wet Amazon. Looks much like Julio did this morning. Must have been shower day in Eastern North America.

Seems to really enjoy it too. He'll let me extend his arms and gently rub the pits and sleeves. Even fan his rudder for me to message it from him all the while making soft amazon grunts. I tried to do flap flap lessons while doing this but he almost lost his grip again on the perch stick. Maybe next time I'll have him on my hand so I can gently hold his feetsies.

Not a good idea to have them practice flapping when really wet! Get a weight when he is wet like this. You will be surprised just how heavy they are when wet. Even a strong flyer like Julio will not be able to fly with lift when wet to this level. Take care when moving a very wet Parrot as they can very easily end up on the floor.

Love the interaction you and Amy have going!

Gloria does the water dish thing. She starts by dunking her head and splashing it everywhere. She has two water dishes and uses one for bathing and one for drinking. When she starts the splashing, then I know she wants a shower so I have a large spray bottle that I shower her with while she splashes--just like the outdoor birds in their bird bath. I can spray her wing pits and underside. There's no way she'd go in the shower but this seems to work quite well and she gets quite soaked--after which she goes on the high perch under the avian light to dry off.

My Sam has a shower perch that sticks to the tile with 3 suction cups. He sits on there like the king while we shower him. He picks up his wings, turns his tail around and flings his head like the Exorcist. Sings and whistles too. Then, we have to swaddle him in a towel to sop up the excess water and blow dry him. He has his own blow dryer we have been using for 30 years, so we know it's safe. Then he takes a nap, after which he grooms his feathers. What a ham.

Fidget loves his baths too. I finally got one of those garden sprayers, (brand new) and used that in the bathtub to give him a bath. It's much easier on the finger!

Here's my wet little punk rocker

Ahhhh….wet Blue Fronts lol..Today I've been over-doing it with sniffin' on Amys' back :) He smells so good and I can actually feel the "softness" of his clothes :09:

Oh man did I miss a good thread! Lots of wet blue fronts in this one:D Gotta hold those toes if you're going to do wet flapping! I can definitely feel Kiwi working harder to flap when wet. Flighted parrots can't fly at all when soaked.
