One of our conure just died after experiencing some breathing problems. We went to the vet earlier today, but he died tonight. The other conure in the cage of course is by its body. What to do? should we leave it there for 30 or so so its friend will know it is dead or remove it immediately? :(

Oh no I'm so sorry for your loss. :(
I would get him out of there ASAP, especially if he had anything that could be transferred to the other conure.
I'm sure he understands that his friend is 'gone'.
You'll be in my thoughts.

Oh gosh, I'm so sorry for your loss :(

You should probably remove his body; I'm sure his friend knows and will most likely grieve as well.

Did your vet determine what was the cause of his breathing issues? Are you going to have a necropsy done?

they thought it might be a heart issue since it was old and came on suddenly. We don't have the money to do any testing the vet bill was enough I am afraid.

I'm so sorry for your loss. *hugs*

How sad for the other conure :( So sorry for your loss.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Your other bird will probably miss his friend very much. Spending extra time with him would probably be helpful to both of you.

So Sorry for your loss, Take solace in knowing that most of us here have felt the pain of losing a loved Fid, We all share your pain!!

As Allee says, spend as much time with him as possible

I'm so sorry about the sudden loss of your conure. You say he was older? Did you have him a long time? Not that it matters in terms of his loss, but I am just asking about him, if you feel like talking about him and telling his story. I had my first conure since she was only 6 months old and I lost her almost 2 years ago. It is hard whether you have had them for 2 years or 20 years.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Animals have sort of a sixth sense about these things. We had two cats while I was growing up. Our black one would always sleep right above my head on my pillow. She got ran over one night. Devastated all of us. Our tabby who never used to sleep with me before came in and slept where Shadow used to always sleep. Point being your other little most likely knows what is going on and can really help you during the healing process.

Oh no! I am so sorry for your loss! :( I feel so bad for the poor little friend! Our thoughts go out to you and your other bird!

So sorry to hear. :( So sad when we lose a member of our family, and that they are! I lost mine 3 weeks ago and will never forget him! Hugs!
