It has been one month as of May 16th since I adopted Savannah and I can't get over how well things are going with Savannah (aka Sinbad). I am now able to hold her against my chest and pet her and snuggle. She loves the attention. She is a little cuddle muffin. I am also giving her sweet little kisses on her beak and head. She loooooves that! I can't get over what a sweet girl she is. She is stepping up for me from inside the cage like clock work. I have even managed to get her to step up while on the outside of the cage a few times. She is a little more stubborn doing this!
I am so glad I took the chance and decided to make her a part of my family! My kids love her! My 3 year old son Marcus loves her but still gets a little too close. He is never around her without supervision, but even with that Savannah lunged at his face one day. He wasn't close enough for her to reach, but it really scared him (and me too for that matter). It just was unexpected at the moment. I think it was actually a good thing to make him understand that she can bite at any moment and to keep his distance! So he's been a little more respectful of her space! You can tell them until you are blue in the face, but sometimes it takes something like this to drill it into their head! He also cries when she sqwaks really loud. He is scared by the noise, but we are working on that and I think he is starting to understand that she is just making noise and isn't going to hurt anyone. Other then that. Things are going super well!
