Lovebird
I found the lovebird in my backyard, two weeks ago. I could not find the owner, so I kept the bird. This is my first lovebird, or bird of any kind.

I have a nook color, with which, I can watch youtube videos.

I loaded some videos of other lovebirds singing, and showed the videos to my lovebird.

My lovebird has a chirping fit, and tries to break through her cage to get to the video lovebirds.

Is this a bad idea?

My red rump parakeet reacts violently to videos of other red rumps, but seems to enjoy other parrot videos. Im gonna say it depends on the bird. you dont know if she lived in a aviary setting or as a single pet so its hard to judge how she feels but I will guess she is not use to human interaction and probably lived with other lovebirds befoe she escaped (or was released)

I put on lovebird videos while Apollo was sitting on my shoulder.
He started chirping, and then flew into the screen trying to get to them. When he realized he couldn't, he started dancing across my keyboard, chirping :)

I don't think it's a bad idea, but I don't think it's something you should do a lot, as your goal is to try and get the bird to trust humans.

Seeing vids won't hurt. My birds love watching vid of other birds.
Did you check Craigs List and parrotalert.com in your area to see if anyone lost their little one?

I looked, and placed an ad about finding her. No takers.
