THERE! I admitted it!
I said 3 fids max... buuuut I was thinking that since I am SO TORN between a AG and GWM... I should get both (eventually). So now I am saying FOUR FIDS are enough... and THIS time I mean it!

Unless a unique situation presents itself involving a Macaw.... I have decided to go with a African Grey (if I still want a Macaw after these two fids and two kids go through puberty, I will rescue one).

On a side note...
There is a 9 year old male Moluccan Cockatoo,in my neighborhood, that is being rehomed. The Moluccan toos are SO ADORABLE with those big puppy eyes but I haven't even wanted a too.... so why am I even tempted

LOL! I know, right?!? I am not getting the too... even if it is SO CLOSE... and even if it is SO BIG.... and even if it DOESNT COST MUCH. NO! NO NO NO!

I am in no rush for the AG. Maybe this summer sometime. I will wait for that great 30% off sale at mybirdstore.com for the cage. The AG can have 1" bar space correct?
As far as a CAG or TAG, I am not sure yet. Funny thing, I bought a book about African Greys. When I opened the book, I realized I must have been shopping in the antique book section. This is page one LOL!

LOL 70s! Here is some more good advice the book has.... after you use aerosol parasite spray on your bird, next you want to get his attention. If he ignores you, grab his beak and force him to pay attention.

M2's are generally the neediest of the bunch. Most people do not, and cannot provide them with the environment they need. They are the bird most likely to become a "Scream N Pluck"...

And they are jet engine noise loud.

Why is this one being rehomed? Probably one or all of the above.

What will they tell you if you ask? We just don't have time for him/her anymore...

These are the highest of the high maintenance birds...

Actually it mentions how they do not like to get wet and that they drink water infrequently. The algae should be left in the water to give the bird added nutrients. Four food requirements SEEDS, CUTTLEBONE, WATER AND GRIT (what is grit?) and a cod liver oil supplement.

Algae should be left in the water for added nutrients HAHAHA :18: oh my that is so terrible that it's funny. I'm still laughing at the spray can pointed at the bird's face. You might want to read through it for some good laughs before you throw it away.


Grit is for bird species (not parrots) who eat seed with the hulls still on. It's supposed to help them grind and digest the food from what I understand. In the early 90's I had finches and it was recommended that I fed them grit. Not sure if it's really necessary for finches(?) since they hull their seed, but certainly not for parrots.
