OK this might be a new one...cheese on feathers

So clark yesterday was "helping" me eat a microwave bacon double cheeseburger. (It's actually a good brand, not a gas station type thing.)

And I realised today he must have gotten some of the melted cheese on a few of his neck feathers, there's like a lets say 4mmx4mm or 1/8"x1/8" blob that hardened on one of his feathers.


I tried just finger nailing it off, but he got pissed and went "growl, growl, growl"


Is there an old wives tale way of getting it off or will Just have to pull or cut it out...

Frigging GCCs I growl now.

Sounds like something that would happen if I left hubby and Kiwi together unattended. Would a warm shower possibly help melt and wash off the cheese? If not, cutting it out when wet would likely be the easiest time to get it accurately while preserving as much of the feather(s) as possible IMO. I wouldn't pluck him personally over this.

lol I didn't even think of that...clark likes bathing in the sink usually but he has showered with me, even though I have to turn the temp down. If I can get some warm water on it that might be enough.


If nothing better comes along in the next few hours before bed I'll take a shower with him and see if it will loosen up enough to come out.

Since cheese takes some time to melt, the steamy warmth of a shower may work better than just warm water.

gotta admit I did giggle a little, yeah just a shower should help at least loosen the cheese

Put that cheesey birdie in the shower! I shower both babies in the shower with me every day. They love it!

I JUST GOT NAKED! calm down ladies it was for medicinal purposes.....actually thank you kiwibird it worked perfectly. After about 30 seconds I reached up and it slid right off. So in the future if a bird gets cheesed up....hot shower will fix it. ...the more you know...
