Yes! They sell bags of organic hulled millet at the health food store...it's actually crunchy and tasty and I've eaten it in yogurt many times. I buy it for one of my outdoor bird feeders. My birds don't care for it, they'd rather pick millet out of millet sprays than eat it out of a dish nice and clean and hulled. I also add about a 1/2 cup to my bird bread batch for a little extra crunch and texture.
I've always found it funny that millet is looked as junk food for birds, yet marketed as health food for people . The wild birds love it.
I just had to try it to see why my birds like it so much. But I didn't try their regular seed mix or pellets so I got nothing to compare it to. It tasted kinda like toast crusts. It was pretty good. I think I heard that it is a staple someplace where it grows natively. It's probably been eaten by people someplace for a very long time.
I did once! LOL I tasted all their pellets too trying to understand why they hate them. I don't blame them! LOL
I IRN got me completely addicted to roasted peanuts! I never ate them before, but now I can go the whole day with them!

Until just now... :52: I had never tried ANY pet foods.
When I was a teen and younger adult, you hear of your friends trying dog food, but as curious as I was, I just couldn't do it. Yuck.
I just popped in my mouth a small handful of both Harrision's regular, and the high potency formula. I admit that just the though of trying it grossed me out, but I did it anyway. They tasted the same... Sort of like tasteless cereal. Grain-like taste.
My birds LOVE that stuff like it's candy. They say birds don't have a very highly developed sense of taste. Apparently not!
I've tried ZuPreem fruit pellets and they are definitely not akin to Fruit Loops - gritty and lacking flavor!! OTOH, I'll snag a Spanish Peanut from the seed mix they get in limited quantities 3x weekly.
The most grotesque animal food antic I've seen occurred at a dog/cat show. A vendor was hawking a line of premium canned dog foods, you know, the brands that cater to human interests by featuring "oven roasted chicken", freshly harvested sweet potatoes, garden peas, etc etc. The guy opened a can, took a long whiff, and over the course of the next few minutes ate several spoonfulls!
