i really sniff him and his feathers. i love after he's done eating- how he smells like his foodie.

I'm so happy i'm not alone on this lol!!! =]

Darcy smells like whatever he's been eating. Strawberries, banana... chili.... Chili is not a good after-smell on a bird LOL.

Yup, I'm a feather sniffer, too. I LOVE the way my Amazons and Macaws smell. If they would market the scent of an Amazon I would apply it liberally - that's how much I like it. :D

I've always liked the smell of my birds. They smell like hay, or something like that. A clean, natural smell. Plus, they also smell like whatever they've eaten.

mmmmm birdy smell! I love the way my little greenie smells. Hay is a good description! Although when he eats his Higgins Mayan Blend food, he smells like licorice :32:

I love my Sweetie Pies breath when he has shared breakfast with hubby and he has eaten A honey nut fiber cereal. He then has a vanilla, honey smell to his breath. The bird that is.:D And George I am glad you are getting help with your bird snorting addiction:eek::D

I admit I have never picked up and smelled my birds' feathers, but I have sniffed my birds.

My verdicts? The Sun conure, I do not notice any particular smell, but I will try later today, maybe.

Mika, well... I don't let her that near my face, LOL -- although that's changing, so maybe someday.

Budgies--- not tame, forget it.

The lovebird--- I do not like his smell. It's rather like wet dog.

The cockatiel now-- she has the best scent-- this kinda burned sugary scent.

And finally Onyx--- the caique--- she has an interesting, musky smell. I know this because she likes to cuddle against my face, I can't help but smell her.

Also, there is a pionus at work that I smelled during a short cuddle session--- she smells like sweet tea or hay <3 I love it!

THere was a pretty active thread about this several months back, if you are interested in searching and reading it.

I like how Pritti smells, kind of like a cross between musk and spice. (I don't love how Pritti smells after eating broccoli.)

I'm so glad that I'm not the only crazy bird owner out there, lol! I love they way Rory smells, I love the way she cuddles, I even love the way she bites when she doesn't get her way!!! And I've only had her for a month I'm sure it's going to get worse the more I fall in love with her. Sometime I just look at a tear up because she brings me so much joy!!! At least there is a place for all us crazy bird people to go and talk about it!!!!
