I was going to post an update on how Num Num is doing today, but I thought I would wait until later on today.

He is a bit better today as he was eating ground pellets and seeds, but I'm still hand feeding him, and he eagerly takes it every time.

....just a few moments ago I heard this all familiar sound coming from his cage, I peeked around the corner and he was mating with Pearl, LOL.

seems he is feeling a bit better if he's up for that, ...that's my Num Num!!:D:D

LOL! It's funny how little effects males in that department. :D

I had to smile with your last update with Num Num. What a resilient strong parrot. He is amazing.

He seems to be getting back into his routine very quickly. I think it is very cute he loves his hand feedings but it a little man to his wife. LOL. Thank you for your updates. I am happy to see he is doing so well.

So was his pickup line like, "Hey baby, check out this cool new scar" or what?

Haha :D what a little stud! At least he still loves his um wife? LOL :)

wow that little stud!

" The size of the bird doesn't matter , the size of its heart does . "

I had to laugh when I saw him, he is so much like his father, lol.

I took this shot today when he was yawing, and you can get a really good look at the damage that was done.....but he seems to have improved a bit today, which I am so very thankful for.

all in all a good day for Num Num, he ate, slept, and had sex, lol....typical male, LOL

..just one more thing....we have vet wrapped every single toy that had chains, over 20 toys in total.

on a positive note - It looks better then it did! Still hard to see him like that. Must be very difficult for you. You seem to be coping well! :)

thanks Blancaej,

yes it has been incredibly difficult. Since Sunday and up until yesterday, all of a sudden the tears would just start flowing, really out of now where. I haven't slept well, and today I was just plain pooped!

But on a happier note, today for Num Num was better.

thanks Rebecca, thank goodness he is young, and very healthy, and seems to be somewhat horny too.
wouldn't you know it, I took down the nesting box yesterday.
I honestly didn't think he would be wanting to mate so soon:eek:

I laughed when I read that!, he's still handsome in my eyes and Pearls ;)

he goes totally nuts without her. when I brought Num Num home after the surgery, I had removed Pearl and put her in the bird room. He was frantic without her, he paced for over an hour.

No matter what I did, he would not calm down. As soon as I put her back in with him, he calmed right down, it's very sweet how much he really cares for her and how bonded they are.

You did the right thing. Mate-bonded birds feel better with their mate than without.

And yes, he is obviously feeling much better -LOL

I think Num Num deserves a new name! Maybe we should vote on a new one, or maybe hold a contest.
