On december 23 my neighbors house went up in flames..bad outside outlet , with a bad freezer plugged into it. As a few of you know , ive been the main caretaker to my neighbors blue and gold..gabby. Hes been my world. My neighbor was never home and never fed his animals. Dec.23 his house burnt down...taking gabby with it..along with his chocolate lab bo. I cant stop crying or shaking. Gabby was left alone daily by his owner. And it was as if everyone but me was scared of him. Sometimes never having anyone but me. I worked saturday.but at least i got to see my bird smile one last time...life isnt fair

Life is truly not fair.

When confronted with what is clearly examples of just plain stupid Human actions that lead to the loss of sweet life, it is even more so!

When words fail, and actions seem too fall short. It is then, when friends gather around and provide a quiet warm place covered in soft comforting feathers that we can turn from the World for a few moments.

Know that you are there now, you are surrounded by this gathering of friends who know, understand and care.

Warm feathered hugs for you and prays for the two that have moved forward to a more comfortable place. And for you, knowledge that is true and their memories will always have a home in your Heart!

Mariar, I am so very sorry. I'm so glad that you were there for Gabby, and that he knew human kindness and love before he passed.
What a horrific tragedy, and my heart goes out to you.

Oh Maria, I’m so sorry :( I’d been hoping for an update on Gabby, this wasn’t the update I wanted to hear. :(

My deepest condolences, Maria. Such a tragedy, sometimes life is so unfair. Gabby was so fortunate to have you as a parront.

My heart is breaking for you; what a horrible loss. I'm so glad you have been there for that bird to give him love.

Thank you all....its been rough.i wasnt updated on the rest of the animals...3 cats 3 chickens and an older lab....the house is abandoned now..i cant bring my self to go over there..even to feed the chickens..if they survived....i dont want to see where gabby fell asleep. Its been just so wierd when your routine is stopped by a tragidy...during brunch i caught myself saying.." I gotta bring pecans over to gabby when were finished" both my fiance and i cried. I have a couple cute videos and a ton of photos to smile with now.

I’m so very sorry.

You were Gabby's hero, and ours too.
Big cyberhugzszszssz to you, dearest darling.

Tragedies like these are so heartbreaking that it's hard to bear. Thank you for all the love you gave Gabby, for the wonderful things you did for her. You are a hero in my book!

One day, you'll meet again, and it will be a joyous homecoming for both of you.

In the meantime, fly free Gabby. You were truly, and deeply, loved.

So very sorry to read this. Fly free Gabby. You gave light and love when there was none.

I am so very sorry to hear about Gabby. Gabby was very lucky to have had you as a friend. Think of what his life would have been if he had never met you.
