Howdy y'all!
My name is Kaitlyn and I'm a college student in Denton, TX. I've been an animal lover ever since going to my aunt's FFA shows as an infant. As a young teenager, I did agility with my Aussie, Stevie. He died at age 2 after a really bad seizure he had when we weren't home. About a year later, a little Green Cheek Conure rescued me.
Knowing what I know now, I would have run FAR away. I adopted her when she was 7 weeks old. After giving me a five minute run down on how to hand feed her, the breeder let me take her home. Needless to say, I will never recommend that breeder.
With a lot of help and even more luck (and practically stalking Barbara Heidenreich), Baby is safe and happy and healthy (and has a vet visit this Friday ). We've gone through a lot together and I'm proud to say she's my best friend and one of the greatest teachers I've had.
Baby and I also live with my pup, Pugsley. He's a 9 year old pug/beagle mix I adopted last Christmas. Both he and Baby get along extremely well. There was a small adjustment period, though; Pugsley was EXTREMELY afraid of Baby. I won't lie, it was a little hilarious.
Sorry for the novel! It's really great to be here and I look forward to meeting other bird enthusiasts!
