Thought y'all might get a laugh out of this.

Charlotte has a thing for coffee. She gets excited when she hears the coffee pot brewing. She tries desperately to get into my cup when I have one. It's kind of funny watching her stretch and twist trying to get to my cup. Of course she can't have any, but it seems she might be an addict.

Kalani is already getting curious of what I have in my cup. Do you have any recent pics of Charlotte? How's everything been going?

Willow was like this for a long time...If I wasn't careful/attentive she'd get a dip or two in before I caught her. I think I've broken her of the habit now, at least I haven't caught her in a while.

I'm as terrible as a first time mom with pictures. I have tons of them, though I don't post a lot because I'm lazy with that.

She's coming along very well. She had a little temper tantrum this week because I was gone a lot, but that involved suddenly loving MrC more than me, though it seems she's forgiven me now, and she's going back to her normal state. She's coming out of he shell more and more. I really couldn't ask for a better bird.

We do still have the plucking issue. It seems like she's doing better, then one night most of the new pin feathers will come out. She is leaving alone most of the new down, so that's something anyway. Who knows if we'll ever get her to start. I just keep trying to do my best, and we shall see what happens.

I had a thought; What is the likelihood that her prior owners did allow her to have coffee? Coffee 'could' act as a driver that may have resulted in some part of her over-activeness (plucking). Watch her activities after see, hear and smelling the coffee. Be aware of any increase in actives.

Its a long short, but worth watching.

You could brew some organic chamomile tea for her, and let her have her own cup! I wonder if she would be satisfied that it's close enough to "moms drink". And I don't know the validity, but I've heard that people have used chamomile tea to help with plucking birds since it naturally reduces anxiety and stress.

How about a mixed brew of chamomile and valerian for the both of you? Not that I am saying you need it, but if Mommy drinks it, it must be great (at least that's what my B&G thinks)

They should both be calming and stress reducing, which in theory should help with plucking :)
