I am going on a girls trip this weekend so Buddy is staying with Husband. I'm leaving in the morning so today I made Buddy a scrambled egg, he loves it but we did something a little different. Buddy was with me on my shoulder being clingy which is rare. I make his egg by cracking an egg in a ceramic cup, scramble it and place it in the microwave for one minute. Today Buddy was in the kitchen with me and watched me do it. Now understand he is not allowed in the kitchen when we are using the stove and that is not often. When Buddy smelt the egg, it was almost done, he got excited.

While the egg was cooling I poured my coffee, and cut up veggies and fruit, Buddy sampled, and I bagged them for while I am gone. This is so Husband can put food in his bowl when it's time to eat. Buddy happily buried his head in his bowl when his egg was served in his cage. I love moments like this with Buddy, I will miss him this weekend. I gave Husband instructions to work with Buddy and make friends, lol.

Hope you have a great time away this weekend:)
Sounds like Buddy knew something is up. Hopefully when you get back he and your hubby will have bonded.

Enjoy your girl trip this weekend! I'm glad you had some special bonding time with Buddy, those are sweet moments. When you return from your trip, you may find Buddy has a new best friend. :)

O man, I just have this vision of one of those "weekend without mom" comedy movies playing out:p Buddy and your hubby all alone...what ever could go wrong:D? [comes back, house is a little *too* clean, buddy and hubby are best buds, and some great "adventure" happened:54:]

Anyways, hope you have a great weekend and that Buddy isn't too much of a terror while your gone:09:

Oh I've been reminding him, "Be sure to put the dogs out in the morning, afternoon, before you leave, in the evenings, and before bed. You have to let them back in. Buddy is not allowed outside, and you have to feed them all, if you forget Buddy will gladly remind you numerous times a day. Don't let Buddy out of his cage, I don't want to return to a blood bath where you are the victim, Buddy is a guaranteed winner with that beak, remember Nubs?" Husband's reply, "You baby them too much." This will be interesting, lol. I think they will be just fine.

Tell hubby that buddy can't have that cockatiel from down the street over when you're not home. LOL

Well I'm home and everyone was happy to see me. Husband said Buddy was very quiet until I got home, lol. I brought Buddy some raw peanuts home and he was in heaven. Husband ordered pizza for dinner and we had a moment of caeous, Canelo bee lined out the door when the pizza man arrived, Buddy screaming with a beak full of peanut while I was demanding Canelo to get out of the pizza man's car. I'm definitely home, lol.

First welcome home Tracey! No, Canelo did not do that did he?! I swear, Canelo is just the funniest dog! :D

Have a great time and let us know how buddy fairs the weekend. :09:

Yes he did, lol. Canelo knows better and usually listens but I think the excitement of me being home got the better of him. He looked like a beach ball bouncing down the drive. Buddy, screaming, muffled screaming because of the peanuts. Pizza guy, smiling and cracking up over the excitement and a fat, slobbery, happy bully in his car like, "let's go. Oooohhhh your car smells delicious." Halloween definitely requires a child gate at the front door, or there will be an escaped, giant lobster loose on the street, lol!

Welcome back, Tracey! I hope you had a pleasant weekend and I'm glad everyone gave you a hero's welcome. I love your dog! That's too funny, Canelo bouncing down the drive to leave with the pizza delivery guy. You have to teach him not to get in the car with strangers even if the car smells like pizza.
