So I have a young conure that I got about 2 weeks ago. Its been great with him, no complaints! However, now he has become really attached to me and in the morning when I wake him up, he doesnt want to touch his chop for like 2 hours. He wants to spend the first 2 hours that he is woken up, on my shoulder. Obviously now with quarantine thats not a problem. But when I go back to work, he is going to have to wake up and have breakfast straight away before putting him in his cage to go to work. Im not sure if it would be safe to leave the chop in his cage for several hours while im at work, I’ve heard 2 hours is the limit. So how can I teach him to eat the chop as soon as he wakes up? Im trying to get him on somewhat of a routine that reflects my work routine, but Im struggling a bit.

Chop definitely should not be let out for more than 2 hours. Perhaps you could give pellets in the morning, and chop at night?
