My name is Jenna, and I'm new to this site as well as newly owned by a red lored amazon. His name is Gizzy, and he was given to me by a friend who wasnt taking care of him. He had a quarantine band on him, so we estimate he is atleast 30 years or, or close to it.
He doesn't talk much, but says Good Boy, Hello ( only when a phone rings) and whistles cat calls.
When I first got him, he was slightly overweight, and sat on a plain perch all day long. No toys, either. He seemed afraid of them all.
But now he loves sitting on different stlyes of perches, and plays with toys. He takes showers with me too. I made him a pvc shower perch the other day. It's stil pretty new, but he's digging it.
I've never had a pet bird, so I'm learning as I go with him. He is very sweet, and loves to hang out with me. If I leave him unattended, he starts to squawk for me. He only does it when he is outside his cage. Thankfully he doesn't do that as I live in an apartment.
