Parrots
Bronze-wing Pionus named Eva.
Hi,
My name is Jolene. I'm relatively new to the wonderful world of birds.
I have a Lineolated Parakeet and have recently been researching Pionus Parrots. I'm looking for an addition to our little family that is going to be relatively quieter, which is what has attracted me to the Pionus.

I have a friend who has had his Pionus for several years and he can't say enough good things about her.

I may have found a breeder with a soon-to-be weaned Dusty Pionus, which is very exciting news.

I'm trying to figure out an adequate cage size. My Linnie is in somewhat of a larger cage. I'm one who would rather give too much room than not enough.

Anyway, just wanted to say hello!

Welcome to our forum! We love to see pictures! :) You are right with your thoughts of cage buying that bigger is better. Of course keeping the bar spacing proper.

Thanks everyone!
Are there many differences between the color species of the Pionus? In my research of the Pi's, I came across a note that the Dusty Pionus are prone to killing their mate and other birds. Since this is what I'm looking into getting, I wanted to know if you've heard this as well?
I've read other species information where a bird has been known to kill it's mate. I'm just looking for a bird with a somewhat steady tempermant, not loud for the most part, easy going, etc. Basically a "dream" bird. ha ha!

Thank you in advance for your help!
