Hello to all the owners on here. I own 2 parrots one Bolivian Blue and Gold and a Military Macaw. I will soon post pictures once I figure out how to do it. Anyway, I do have a question about the birds tho. My military's beak is discolored in the sense it has a light gray or white in it. Is this an issue? Also both birds beaks peel. Is this normal? Thanks for your feedback

Hello, welcome to the Forums.
Regarding the beaks flaking I wrote this for another thread & copied it here:

Beaks are made of Keratin just as our hair is & feathers & fingernails.
Beaks naturally shed layers. Frequently the birds rub the layers off.
My Yellow Naped Amazon always rubs her beak on her perch or on a leather toy to clean it every time after she eats.

"Like fingernails, parrot beaks are continually growing. “The beak grows from the base and underneath the outer layer, and the outer layer is shed as it is being replaced from underneath,” explained Gregory Burkett, DVM, an avian veterinarian in Durham, North Carolina."
from "Bird Beak Anatomy".
Regarding the color of the Military's beak I would have to see pics to know if it is normal.
