Hello,
i'm new to the forum (not that new to birds)
I thought I would finally sign up instead of just snooping around.

a quick introduction to myself,
my name is Bec, i live in Werribee (a town outside of Melbourne, Australia)
i'm an animal carer with The Lonely Pets Club (a company of people who walk other peoples pets, and look after their pets and house when they go away)
and also do a bit of freelance photography and graphic design.

as for my birds, we (myself and my mother) have really only gotten into serious bird owning over the last couple of years.

we have 3 green cheek conures (Zeph, Ziggy (both males) & Forest (the female)):

Zeph & Ziggy

Forest

a Kakariki named Riki:

ringnecks named Audrey (white) and Duke (blue)

and most recently, yesterday infact, i got my nanday which I named Remy,
obviously he's still settling in and getting used to us, he's sitting on my arm ripping up a tissue as i'm typing this lol

so that's pretty much it,
don't know what else i could say really, feel free to ask me anything in you're curious about...

in closing, here's Zeph posing for a picture
every time i ask him if i can take a picture, he says "picture!" and freezes on the spot until i take that picture lol

Welcome :) Lovely looking bunch!
I'm another Aussie that mucks aroud with cameras. Looking forward to seeing your pics :)

If Ziggy is supposed to be a green cheek conure, then it looks like he's probably a hybrid... cause he should have black on top of his head and it's green instead.

Regardless, they are all lovely looking birds! Welcome to ParrotForums!

i know what you mean,
Ziggy was sold to us as a green cheek, but i've always thought he looks more like a maroon belly.

you can't really tell by that picture up there, it's just from my instagram,
a non-filtered pic:

That definitely shows it! Do you have photos of his tail, top and bottom?

I don't even recall if maroon bellies are available in Australia, but I know other species are! Guess it wouldn't be surprising, lol! Shame you probably can't get a hold of his breeder?

Welcome to the forum.

Your babies are gorgeous. And your pics are super. Love the story about Zeph posing & saying picture. They are amazing creatures & so intelligent.

I love Nandays! I just dont like the sound they make! lol
In my opinion, they are one of the most beautiful small birds available as a pet.
